Yaw Construction, founded in 2006 has been building relations with key players in the Construction Market in the Upper Midwest. As President and CEO, Gilbert Odonkor has been focused on forging and maintaining relations that will not only help the company grow but thrive under all market conditions.

Prior to forming Yaw Construction Group, Inc. Gilbert served in different capacities on a variety of projects in the Twin Cities. One of the prominent projects he worked on was the Minneapolis Convention Center Addition (Joint Venture between M.A Mortenson and Thor Construction), starting out as a Project Engineer and then later as a Contracts Manager. In addition to having an undergraduate degree in Construction Management from the University of Minnesota ,Gilbert Completed Four years of Education at the University of Science and Technology in Building Technology and also earned his Master of Business Administration Degree with concentration in Finance from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota.

Gilbert Odonkor is currently serving as:

A member of the Construction Management Advisory Committee for the period 2008-2011 for the Bachelor of Applied Science Construction Management Program at the University of Minnesota.

A board member and secretary of the National Association Of Minority Contractors ( NAMC )
